I’m Charisse!

(Pronounced Cha-Reese)

Charisse Johns, MS, LPC, EMDR Certified, KAP, RYT-200

I am the owner and founder of Mind-Body Connection Therapy. I am so happy you have made it to this point in your search to find a therapist. I believe that you are your own best healer and I am just a guide to help you along this journey. It takes courage to pursue healing. This journey can be daunting, but liberation does come on the other side. I would be honored to walk alongside you through the ups, downs, challenges, and successes. You are not alone and you don’t have to know what to do.

My Credentials and Counseling Background:

I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, providing clinical counseling since 2018. I’ve worked with a wide range of populations and age groups across various care settings, from inpatient hospitals to outpatient clinics.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Dallas Baptist University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Woman’s University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas, EMDR certified, a Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapist (KAP), and a Registered Yoga Teacher.

The “why” behind my passion and what kind of therapist I am:

I spent a lot of my life feeling disconnected from my body because of trauma and emotional neglect. My life experience is what fuels my passion for this work. I want to offer my clients what I once needed and what others have gifted me with—a safe, nonjudgmental space to be curious, to heal, and to explore. My goal is to hold space for the things others in your life may not have been able to, in a way that helps you stay connected instead of shutting down. My hope is that your parts feel safe to soften here.

I work with clients who want to heal from past trauma, break unhelpful or generational patterns, overcome limiting beliefs, sit with their emotions, and learn to connect with and listen to their bodies.

Clients often describe me as relatable, insightful, attentive, accepting, patient, and safe. My personal and therapeutic values include safety, curiosity, compassion, humor, and leading with heart and intuition.

Lets get personal:

I’m a lover of animals, nature, plants, people, and live music—everything from intimate acoustic sets to high-energy EDM (quite the mix, I know!). A Leo sun, Aries moon, and Cancer rising, enneagram 6w7, and neurodivergent (ADHD), I enjoy exploring farmers markets, hunting for unique finds while thrifting, and discovering new coffee shops and restaurants with my husband. We also love traveling and spending time with our four amazing dogs.
